摘要: Poly(meth)acrylates material, as one of the most used soft material, has been used in various industrial applications like biomedical coating and tissue engineering.  While UV-curing, due to its simple procedure and easy applicability, has been widely used in the industrial production of polyacrylate gels. One of the short-coming of implementing this radiation-induced radical polymerization approach is the extensively presented morphological and topological heterogeneities throughout the cured materials. Therefore, it is of great interest to systematically probe microheterogeneity in these UV-cured polyacrylates via a combination of different analytical approaches.
Small-angle scattering techniques are well-known for their applications in probing structural heterogeneity on the scale from 10 to 104 Å. On the other hand, NMR spin diffusion experiment offers information on different aspects of heterogeneity (structural and dynamic) in a broad range of spatial dimensions from 10 to 2000 Å. In this talk, we used these two techniques to probe the microscopic structure of several hydrogel systems. Furthermore, by correlating the macroscopic properties (e.g. mechanical strength, thermal properties) with these structural information, the design of these hydrogel can be optimized.
