Dr. Liping Lu (LL) has established herself as an outstanding researcher in the fields of lighting devices and atomically thin materials. She also has extensive industrial and business experience having worked for 7 years in industry, international marketing and management. LL received a PhD in 2012 from the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Sir Richard Friend. Her research has led to 9 papers in prestigious high impact journals such as Nature Communications and patents generated from her PhD research have been licensed by Cambridge Display Technology Ltd for the development of active matrix display panels. After her PhD, she worked as a postdoc in the Department of Materials, Imperial College London on solution processable atomically thin materials. In 2015 LL joined the research teams of Prof Monica Craciun as an associate research fellow on the integration of the patented form of graphene in emerging technologies, such as hybrid electronics integrating 2D materials and organic semi-conductors.
